Monthly Mayhem: The Greenwood's 17th and 18th Month!

Friday, December 5, 2014
So, I was bad and didn't post anything for October! Ooops! I would like to say its because we've been to busy with school and work but... I'm always busy with school and work. I'm not really sure what it was because I do enjoy blogging. Perhaps I just needed a break.

October

Anyways, October was pretty chill. We did a couple of awesome things though.

We watched General Conference, a world-wide event where we hear from modern day prophets. Don't worry if you missed it, there is one in April too, and it happens every year.

Our kitty cat even got into it.

We also bought ourselves a (very) early Christmas presents... drumroll please....

photo bikes_zpsa35bf633.jpg Tada! Can you guess which one is mine?

I also got to see my lovely mother! I had a week off of work so we went down to Osage Beach and got a bunch of stuff for my fall decor. It really ended up being a centerpiece and a table runner.

photo centerpiece_zps915f5e3c.jpg I really love the way it turned out. I'm going to change a few things around and use it for winter! Btw, table runners are a pretty sweet invention. Like, whoever thought of that... high five!

The rest of October was pretty much same as normal. Though, I don't mind normal as long as I have a little spice here and there. Although, I'm not sure if Winter Beckett feels the same... This is her, I'm so done with today face...

November

So, in November I got some new glasses.
 photo newglasses_zps687fb4b9.jpg

My parents and grandparents came over for Thanksgiving and we had a fabulous time. We mostly played "Heads Up," cooked, and ate a ton of good food. Anybody need turkey? I still have plenty! But seriously, if you  have not downloaded "Heads Up" yet, please do. Its a free app on your phone that is a little like "Taboo". It is so much fun to play, especially with a group. The descriptions people give and the answers people give add up for some great hilarity!

photo catinabasket_zps326cafa2.jpg Castle loved my parents so much he wanted to go home with them!

On Thanksgiving night John and I bundled up and went to Best Buy. John wanted to get an X-Box one with his bonus money and they had the best deal so on we went. We also went to Wal-Mart and Target. I think we could have totally skipped Wal-Mart but there ya go, you live and you learn.

photo thanksgivingdayshopping_zps30061a88.jpg We went a little crazy with the dvds, but I regret nothing. Especially the one on the top of the pile!

photo dvdextravaganza_zps6de4f8fd.jpg At the end of November I received some very exciting news: I was offered a job at Veterans United Home Loans as a Setup Specialist! I am very excited for this opportunity and next phase in my life!

I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season!

The Greenwood's Twelveth Month

Monday, June 2, 2014
 photo monthlymayhem_zps6721b3d3.jpg

We made it!

John and I have made it through an entire year of being married! A lot has happened this year... I invite you to stroll down memory lane and take a look at all the Monthly Mayhem's that led up to this.

This month we finished school for the summer, and John is searching high and low for an internship for the summer session.

We were able to attend our friends wedding reception, which was awesome. I even got to dance a little. I cannot tell you how much I miss swing dancing! If any body knows of a cheap/free place to swing dance in Columbia let me know!

John continued to have health issues this month. So much so that he had to get a colonoscopy.  While that was no fun, we are glad that he had that procedure because the doctor found something that could have been life threatening down the road!  We think we have finally figured out what was causing him so much pain and he is on some medicine that should make him feel better. Just no highly acidic foods until it's over!

We had the pleasure of attending two barbecues over Memorial Day weekend.  One with John's work friends, and one with church friends. I got a little emotional thinking of all of the men and women who have died to keep us safe and free.

We celebrated our one year anniversary by getting sealed in the St.Louis temple and then going to The Melting Pot. All in all, it was a pretty spectacular day and made me remember how much I really do love my husband.

Here's to us to making it another twelve  months and beyond! Join us on this journey by following my blog on facebook, blogger, bloglovin or by email.

Best (Mostly) Practical Gifts for Father's Day

Saturday, May 24, 2014

Father's day is just around the corner (Sunday, June 15th) and if you are shopping online,  there is no time like the present to order your dad a little something special for the holiday.

However,  if your dad is anything like mine, a lot of these cutesy ideas on pinterest are not going to work. My dad would of course appreciate anything that I got him, but I want it to be something he will actually use and enjoy.

That means no  decorations, picture frames, and, for my dad, nothing golf related!

My dad is a fishing fool who also enjoys hunting, Nascar, grilling and smoking meats. If your dad also enjoys those things look at the specific list below. If not, use it as inspiration.

This guide just also happens to be budget friendly too!

P.s. I found etsy a lot more useful on this ground than pinterest.

Funny/Nerdy T-shirts
Such as Stephanie Jane Designs or etsy listings.

Very practical, but very fun. Give your dad the gift of showing off how awesome of a kid they have by getting a shirt that he loves.

P.s. If you don't understand this shirt, leave right now and go watch Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. I promise, you will thank me for it later.

Fun, Rustic or "Sporting" Soap

Soaps aren't just gifts for women! Men can also enjoy a nice smelling bar of soap. But let's make it a little more manly, eh? My favorite are fishing soaps (help you not smell so human so you can catch more fish!), gun or Darth Vader shaped soaps, and rustic looking soaps wrapped in tree bark.

Dry Rub

If you're dad loves to grill or smoke meat, why not give him a variety pack of dry rubs to try out. Who knows, maybe you're gift to him will turn out to be a treat for you :)

Herbs and Gourmet Salts

If your dad loves to cook, give him the gift of gourmet and let him experiment in the kitchen!

Popcorn salts

Have a movie loving or popcorn loving dad? Then a variety of popcorn salts may be just what he didn't know he wanted. I also love this because you can play around with the presentation and make it look really special. (Just please don't get him Twilight like the picture above!)

Portable Charger

Such as ikeep or juice cube

What I like about this is that techy dad's and non techy dad's alike can enjoy this useful and practical gift (as long as they have an iphone, though they may work with anything than can charge with a usb charger.). This would be perfect for any dad that goes hiking, hunting, fishing, sporting, camping or anything outdoorsy. This way he can keep his phone charged when he is away from electricity.

P.s. The "Juice Cube" is made in the U.K. so, shipping may be a bit expensive.

Custom Made Candy Bar
Such as Chocomize

I love this gift so much that I've given it for almost every occasion. . . Father's day, Christmas, Birthdays etc. It's relatively inexpensive,  and it's much better than regular chocolate because you can completely customize it to you're dad's (or whoever's) tastes!

So, there you have it! My Father's Day Gift Guide. I hope you enjoyed it! Is there anything you would add or take away? I hope I helped! I know this guide is full of links, but I am in no way being compensated or sponsored for this post. These are just things that I would buy for my dad and father-in-law!

Here's to getting Dad a gift he will love.

Monthly Mayhem: The Greenwood's 11th Month

Happy May everybody!

One more month to go until John and I reach our one year anniversary! I'm so excited! :) We may annoy each other sometimes, but I wouldn't trade this life for anything!

Alright, alright, I'll stop with the mush! What were we up to in April, you ask? Well...

> I was offered a job at Providence bank and I said yes! So now I am a full time teller! Training was a little scary and a lot to take in but I am loving it. I'm still getting the hang of things and getting used to full time hours but its going well. I love my team so that helps a lot!

> John has been dealing with some health issues. :(

> We started a gutter garden! I'm excited to see what happens!! We planted cilantro, snow peas, green beans, chives, and green onions!

> John had to mow for the first time since we bought the house. He wasn't too happy about it but he powered through like the trooper he is and it looks great :)

> School, school, school.

> We had a BBQ and game night which was super fun but we cooked way too much food! I didn't cook
like the rest of the month! ... Oh yeah, we bought a grill!

> I celebrated my 21st birthday! No huge bash, just a chill night at home with a friend playing Glee karaoke!
John even baked me a cake! It was good... but we may leave the baking to me from now on! (It was a little runny in the middle!)

> I went on a shopping spree with some birthday money and fun money. It was awesome. One of my favorite purchases? These shoes...

Alright, I think that's all folks! School will be out for summer soon so, you should be expecting me a little more often! I have a lot of ideas, but let me know what you want to see/read in the comments below!

Monthly Mayhem: The Greenwood's Tenth Month

Wednesday, April 9, 2014
 photo monthlymayhem_zps6721b3d3.jpg
Ten months, guys. TEN MONTHS. We are only two, count them.... one... two... months away from one whole year! That is beyond crazy to me.

We don't have  a whole lot to share this month. Things have been going well for us and we couldn't be more grateful.

The main thing that happened this March was that we finally received our sectional! And its a beauty. Oddly enough, it was actually cheaper for us to buy it at a discount store online and have it delivered than it was to buy it at outlet stores here. Besides, once we saw this one our hearts were kind of set on it.
 photo sectional_zpsf99f61d7.jpg
Obviously, this big hunk of furniture required a new set up! I love it, even though it makes our living room feel a little smaller, its more sectioned off now so our mini "office" area is actually separate from our living room. I don't have pictures of that but you should be able to catch my drift.

 photo SectionalCollage_zps3a246c95.png
We also bought and set up a Patio set for our screened in porch! :) That may or may not have actually happened in February and I forgot to tell you. But yes! Pictures soon. One of the chair legs was broken and we have to get a replacement. When that happens you can be sure there will be pictures!

March was super stormy. Though luckily, just with the weather and not with our personal lives! But seriously, snow after the official first day of Spring? No thank you! Though, knock on wood, I think the weather has finally decided that its spring. Hooray!

Other than that...

I've been continuing to work on my knitting. (Keep your eye out for a post soon!)

John's been really taking the "Let Your Husband Play Video Games" seriously and playing League of Legends quite a bit... somehow it's relaxing?

We continued to have swell jobs.

and... we've both been hitting the books. Today is actually John's midterms! Good luck to him! I don't have any midterms this session (lucky me, I know!).

I promise to get better at these.... and take more pictures! Perhaps a monthly collage?

Also, let me know what you would like to see in future posts, not just Monthly Mayhems! I'd like to post more than just "The Perfect Music For..." and "High Five for Fridays" on a regular basis as those are kind of fillers. But they are just so much fun! My goal is to make this an enjoyable experience for you and me, and to consistently improve! I'd love your feedback.

High Five for Friday v3

Friday, February 28, 2014
 photo HighFiveforFriday_zpsc1b9e880.jpg
Are you happy its Friday? I know I am! This week has been crazy. School ends next week and I still have 3 more papers to write. What is this madness?

So, earlier this week, I stumbled upon this thing... a few of you may have heard of it. Its called 100 Happy Days . Basically, its a challenge to post a picture of something that makes you happy each day for 100 days! I chose Instagram as my mode of posting so, if you follow me on there, sorry for the repeat pictures! (username is thehuntress31 if you want to follow)

Played with the kitty cats and had a lazy day on Sunday :) (this Sunday we are supposed to get a huge snow storm! Boo!

I got to relax with my hubby on Monday night!

Our new pantry storage cabinet thing finally arrived! The plan was that John would do the pantry organizing and I would do the dvd organizing. Well, I came home after school on Tuesday to find that he had done them both! Isn't he a sweetie?!

On Wednesday, John decided to come home early and we ended up getting some Chipotle, which I had been craving for AGES!

I'm still working up a storm on my next knitting project. Any tips on knitting faster? I'm still pretty new so maybe that's it but I'm like Ricky Bobby over here... I wanna go fast!

Oh yeah... I made brownies for John but I've been eating them all week. Brownie sundaes are totally worth all the carbs and such right? ...right?

What can I say? Its a crazy life I live!

Monthly Mayhem: The Greenwood's Eighth Month!

Friday, January 31, 2014
 photo monthlymayhem_zps6721b3d3.jpg

I don't know about you guys, but I feel like this month just flew by!
We've been pretty busy around here but not a whole lot has changed except... drumroll please!

WE GOT OUR SECOND CAT, Castle! :)
It took awhile to get him adjusted (he didn't eat for the first three days, and then Winter Beckett got sick!) but, he is thriving now and getting into all sorts of mischief.

Like, making a nest in my Victoria's Secret bag.

... and eating paper towels for some reason?

But, Winter Beckett and Castle seem to be getting along swell.

Aren't they adorable?!
They are super cuddly and we love them!
Even if they eat each others food...
Other than that, we started school back up again.
We're still in the process of doing taxes... okay, well John is doing our taxes. And in the process of organizing all of our documents and creating a system.
I've been knitting up a storm thanks to my good friend Biz (check out her etsy) and some Christmas money!

Can't wait to see what February has in store for us!

Warranty & Product Binder (Free Printables!)

Friday, January 10, 2014
Hello!
I just finished a book called "The Hoarder in You" by Robin Zasio and ever since I've been on an organizing kick. Or at least, planning on how I'm going to be on an organizing kick. So, with that in mind I went all around the web looking for family binder printables and found a few from different various places that I'll be using. But I realized that nobody had any printables for a Warranty and Manual binder. Which if you don't know what that is, its a binder where you organize all of your warranties and manuals, usually in page protectors, with the receipts and everything that you may need if say you need to return it.. Maybe I couldn't find a printable because you don't really need one but, I thought it would be nice to have a page in front of the page protector so that I don't have to go through all of the warranty and policy mumbo jumbo. It will just be right there. So, without further ado, here is my Product Information Printable.

I also wanted to share the cover I made with you.

Feel free to download these and use them for personal use but please don't share and pass off as your own! If you use them, let me know! If you post a picture of yours, link back to me please!

Happy Friday!
