Monthly Mayhem: The Greenwood's 17th and 18th Month!

Friday, December 5, 2014
So, I was bad and didn't post anything for October! Ooops! I would like to say its because we've been to busy with school and work but... I'm always busy with school and work. I'm not really sure what it was because I do enjoy blogging. Perhaps I just needed a break.

October

Anyways, October was pretty chill. We did a couple of awesome things though.

We watched General Conference, a world-wide event where we hear from modern day prophets. Don't worry if you missed it, there is one in April too, and it happens every year.

Our kitty cat even got into it.

We also bought ourselves a (very) early Christmas presents... drumroll please....

photo bikes_zpsa35bf633.jpg Tada! Can you guess which one is mine?

I also got to see my lovely mother! I had a week off of work so we went down to Osage Beach and got a bunch of stuff for my fall decor. It really ended up being a centerpiece and a table runner.

photo centerpiece_zps915f5e3c.jpg I really love the way it turned out. I'm going to change a few things around and use it for winter! Btw, table runners are a pretty sweet invention. Like, whoever thought of that... high five!

The rest of October was pretty much same as normal. Though, I don't mind normal as long as I have a little spice here and there. Although, I'm not sure if Winter Beckett feels the same... This is her, I'm so done with today face...

November

So, in November I got some new glasses.
 photo newglasses_zps687fb4b9.jpg

My parents and grandparents came over for Thanksgiving and we had a fabulous time. We mostly played "Heads Up," cooked, and ate a ton of good food. Anybody need turkey? I still have plenty! But seriously, if you  have not downloaded "Heads Up" yet, please do. Its a free app on your phone that is a little like "Taboo". It is so much fun to play, especially with a group. The descriptions people give and the answers people give add up for some great hilarity!

photo catinabasket_zps326cafa2.jpg Castle loved my parents so much he wanted to go home with them!

On Thanksgiving night John and I bundled up and went to Best Buy. John wanted to get an X-Box one with his bonus money and they had the best deal so on we went. We also went to Wal-Mart and Target. I think we could have totally skipped Wal-Mart but there ya go, you live and you learn.

photo thanksgivingdayshopping_zps30061a88.jpg We went a little crazy with the dvds, but I regret nothing. Especially the one on the top of the pile!

photo dvdextravaganza_zps6de4f8fd.jpg At the end of November I received some very exciting news: I was offered a job at Veterans United Home Loans as a Setup Specialist! I am very excited for this opportunity and next phase in my life!

I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season!

Monthly Mayhem: The Greenwood's 16th Month

Tuesday, October 7, 2014
 photo monthlymayhem_zpseba2441d.jpg
I'm a little late on the uptake this month but I have an excuse... September was the Month of sickness!
John totally got both of us sick and we were out for about a week! That may not sound like much seeing as we don't have kids and such but, it made us get a little behind on our homework.

So the last of was spent playing catch up at home, work, and school. But I think we've made it through and are back to a normal routine. While I was sick I did find a new show to watch: Revenge! It is really good so far, I'm hooked! No spoilers, please I'm only on the first season.

Before we got sick we went on a double date night (okay, okay, afternoon...) to see the Maze Runner and get some Andy's Frozen Custard. The movie was fabulous and there was a slight mishap at Andy's but their customer service handled it beautifully.

Not a whole lot else happened in the month of September. We are ready for our week off of school coming up and all of our shows coming back! :) I really need to catch up on Vampire Diaries!

I love this time of year so I am hopeful for October. I can't wait to see what it brings and eat my weight in pumpkin flavored goodness!

Monthly Mayhem: The Greenwood's 15th Month!

Thursday, September 4, 2014
Wow. I can't believe I haven't been on here since my last monthly update. I am sorry about that! I promise to try to be better in the future. August came and went very quickly! I don't have a lot of pictures this month!

photo monthlymayhem_zpseba2441d.jpg We started school, and my, how I miss summer! ha. We both have a lot of reading to do so, most of our time goes to that, which isn't awesome but, at least we are getting smarter! One step closer to graduating with a degree!

John also was still having some stomach issues and had to get some procedures done. They have finally figured out what has been going on so, hopefully we can find the solution as well.

Although school has kind of taken over our lives, I'm still knitting up a storm. I can't wait to share my creations with you! Some are even my own design (or at least, manipulation/ hodgepodge of other designs. But, that's how you learn, right?)

We finally got our towel rack in our bathroom re-installed (it was pulling out of the wall, yikes!) and our bathroom put back together. Such a relief! Call me materialistic or spoiled but I love having a towel rack! Makes my life so much easier... and honestly, just looks better.

We discovered a new game that we love. Its called "Heads Up" and you can download it on your smart phone. Its basically like Taboo but, without the annoying buzzer and specific categories. It is so much fun!

This month I also stopped doing #100HappyDays... for the second time, though this time it intentional. I stopped doing it because instead of making me happy, it was actually kind of a burden and a source of stress, which is silly I know! But for some reason, I was feeling overwhelmed by it, which is pretty much the opposite of the intention so, I decided it was better just to cut it short.

photo 1409865995884_zpsebcccb05.jpg I am trying to be better at managing my time so that I can do work, school, and blogging at least weekly without completely loosing my mind.  Do any of you have amazing time management tips? I can find a bunch, but I haven't really found any where that talks about managing your time being a blogger/having a full time job/ being a full time student. I'd love any tips I can get!

The Greenwood's Twelveth Month

Monday, June 2, 2014
 photo monthlymayhem_zps6721b3d3.jpg

We made it!

John and I have made it through an entire year of being married! A lot has happened this year... I invite you to stroll down memory lane and take a look at all the Monthly Mayhem's that led up to this.

This month we finished school for the summer, and John is searching high and low for an internship for the summer session.

We were able to attend our friends wedding reception, which was awesome. I even got to dance a little. I cannot tell you how much I miss swing dancing! If any body knows of a cheap/free place to swing dance in Columbia let me know!

John continued to have health issues this month. So much so that he had to get a colonoscopy.  While that was no fun, we are glad that he had that procedure because the doctor found something that could have been life threatening down the road!  We think we have finally figured out what was causing him so much pain and he is on some medicine that should make him feel better. Just no highly acidic foods until it's over!

We had the pleasure of attending two barbecues over Memorial Day weekend.  One with John's work friends, and one with church friends. I got a little emotional thinking of all of the men and women who have died to keep us safe and free.

We celebrated our one year anniversary by getting sealed in the St.Louis temple and then going to The Melting Pot. All in all, it was a pretty spectacular day and made me remember how much I really do love my husband.

Here's to us to making it another twelve  months and beyond! Join us on this journey by following my blog on facebook, blogger, bloglovin or by email.

Monthly Mayhem: The Greenwood's Ninth Month!

Tuesday, March 11, 2014
 photo monthlymayhem_zps6721b3d3.jpg

I'm a little late on getting this up, and I feel as if February was so long ago.

February was a short month but plenty of things happened!

- We started car shopping

- We decided on and bought a sectional (On clearance! Didn't get it till March though so, you'll have to wait to see what it looks like ;) )

- We were in our last leg of the January session at school.

- Valentines Day! John got me an awesome sugar scrub for my hands and an IOU for a date at the Melting Pot in St. Louis.

- I got him a personalized cookie jar. (Because of a video. They asked a couple how they stayed together so long and the guy said, "because she keeps the cookie jar full!")

- Our good friends had a baby and she is adorable! It gave me  a little bit of baby fever but I know, I know.... degree first, then babies.

- We bought a treadmill (and set it up ourselves, mind you... well, okay, John did most all of the heavy lifting and assembly... but I helped! Kinda)

- I started this awesome challenge called 100 Days of Happiness.

I can't figure out if my memory is bad or if February really was that uneventful. March will be much more exciting... It has been already! I feel like February just set us up for a fun and awesome March.

P.S. It feels like Spring is here! Please let it be so!

Monthly Mayhem: The Greenwood's Eighth Month!

Friday, January 31, 2014
 photo monthlymayhem_zps6721b3d3.jpg

I don't know about you guys, but I feel like this month just flew by!
We've been pretty busy around here but not a whole lot has changed except... drumroll please!

WE GOT OUR SECOND CAT, Castle! :)
It took awhile to get him adjusted (he didn't eat for the first three days, and then Winter Beckett got sick!) but, he is thriving now and getting into all sorts of mischief.

Like, making a nest in my Victoria's Secret bag.

... and eating paper towels for some reason?

But, Winter Beckett and Castle seem to be getting along swell.

Aren't they adorable?!
They are super cuddly and we love them!
Even if they eat each others food...
Other than that, we started school back up again.
We're still in the process of doing taxes... okay, well John is doing our taxes. And in the process of organizing all of our documents and creating a system.
I've been knitting up a storm thanks to my good friend Biz (check out her etsy) and some Christmas money!

Can't wait to see what February has in store for us!

Hello all!
I know this is a little late but hey, better late than never.
Here's to the month of December being over!
It wasn't a bad one per-sey but I personally just did a lot of silly things that were totally preventable had I been paying attention.
Alas, we had some great times in December.
-We were out of school
-We decorated for Christmas
-We made Christmas cookies to share
- We found a really great show called The Breakout Kings on Netflix
-We got to see both of our families for Christmas
- We got a bunch of great Christmas presents (thanks, everyone!)
-But the biggest thing that happened, we got a kitty cat named Winter Beckett! She is the cutest little thing ever and we are so happy to have her! She is a European Burmese

Monthly Mayhem: The Greenwood's Third Month

Thursday, August 29, 2013
Hello there!
It is the last Thursday of the month... can you guess what that means?
Yep! Our monthly update!
 photo monthlymayhem_zps6721b3d3.jpg

This month was fairly non-stressful... until the last two weeks that is!

On August 19th, John and I both started our evening classes at Columbia College. It's only two classes but, they are about 2-2.5 hours each, 2 nights a week. (We even have a class together!)
That plus a 40 hour work week makes for some tired Greenwoods.
And then, John received some news from the company that we work for...
his department has to go through additional training/testing so that they can continue to receive bonuses.
This basically means that he gets to study and take a webinar at work, study at home, and go to school.
Fun stuff right?
There is one positive thing about it though: He is temporarily in my building!
I know that it wouldn't really work in the long run, but since it is only for two weeks, I like that he can pop up and see me for a moment or two. It brightens my day!
Our plans to get a house by mid-October are going very well! I don't want to go to much into it though because I don't want to jinx it!
We've been kind of boring lately because we've been so busy with school and work...
or just too tired to do much of anything else.
It's not that we're anti-social, we promise!
